Life doesn’t have to be as hard as it is—
it really and truly doesn’t. Of course,
there is always disease, death, pain,
heartbreak, toothache, hay fever.
But we don’t need to make it harder
with greed and avarice, hatred and fear,
violence, stupidity, bigotry and war.
Life isn’t easy, but it shouldn’t be hard.
