Wars never really end.
They play out over and over
again in the lives of those
who experienced trauma,
those who lost loved ones,
those who, through no fault
of their own, found themselves
in harm’s way. Wars never really end
because they are not “out there”
somewhere. They are in our heads,
in our hearts, and in our scarred souls.
