in being in the presence of those who share
our values and our commitments to love and justice.
There is comfort in in our being together,
In being here not for ourselves alone
but for each other, whatever we may be feeling.
There is comfort in our being together,
In our growing awareness of the ways in which
we are deeply and meaningfully connected,
even in our differences.
There is comfort in our being together,
in our willingness to remind ourselves and one another
about what matters most in our lives, about the things
that bind us together and strengthen us,
to remind ourselves that we are enough, just as we are.
We pause now for a moment of silence to know and experience
the comfort in our being together, here and now.
May we comfort ourselves and one another
as witnesses and companions in all the ups and downs
of our lives, in all the confusion and striving,
all the fear and hope, all the dreams and heartaches.
And may we always return to this place of awareness,
knowing that there is comfort in our being together.
Amen!
